Starting Opti

Hi all,
I'm starting on opti as at tomorrow. I've delayed it from Wednesday for a couple of reasons but the bottom line is that I am slack. But come tomorrow, this is it.

I'm just going to list a few things that I am really looking forward to when I lose weight. This way I can get it out there and look back on my older posts and remind myself why I am doing this.

The things I am most looking forward to are....
  • Waking up in the morning and feeling good about myself
  • Weeing on a stick and discovering that it is positive
  • Feeling a baby kick inside me
  • Fitting into the chairs at work properly
  • Fitting into some of my favourite clothes
  • Having my fiance look at me and tell me that I'm a spunk!
  • Getting a bikini wax and not feel incredibly embarrassed
  • Sit with my legs crossed
  • Be comfortable enough that I can actually look at photos of myself
  • Go to a gym without feeling self conscious
  • I want my fiance to be able to pick me up and carry me over the threshold on our wedding night
  • Try running
  • Ride a bike
  • Fit into size 14 clothes
  • Buy a pair of desinger jeans
  • Get my boobs done - this a wish I have once I reach goal and after we have two babies
  • and the list goes on..... there's more and no doubt that I will add more when I think of them.

Bye for now.

Exercise

Hi all,
The weather has been just beautiful here lately so I have been taking our little dog, Benson for walks. We have been going to a park near the water and it is just lovely to walk alongside the water on the green grass. It took a lot for me to actually get up, put my sand shoes on and go, but I tell you what, it really does make me feel a lot better. I'm feeling energised and more positive. I just hope I have the energy to exercise when I’m on opti fast.

As always, Benson feels the need to poo whenever he leaves his own yard and he doesn't make any exceptions when walking through a public park. Eeew! Which means I have to pick up after him, yes you heard it here, I pick it up (with a plastic bag of course). To anyone watching it would have looked like one of those silly comedy movies when the bag I was going to use blew away in the wind and I had to run after it trying to stop it. Just as I got closer, it kept blowing away. Now, I'm a big girl so whoever was watching must have had a good laugh. Oh well, glad I could provide some entertainment! After our little run I managed to retrieve the bag and clean up after the little fella.

I start opti on 14 July so wish me luck. I'm really not looking forward to replacing every meal with liquid, but I guess I'll have to get used to it for the next couple of months. Oh well, it will be worth it. I can't wait to drop some weight and cms and fit back into some of my favourite clothes.

Well I best go and get ready for work. Catch you all soon.

First blog

Hello to all who are reading my new blog,

This is the first time I have blogged so it’s new and I am still experimenting with layouts etc. I will try to blog as often as I can and keep you all updated as to my progress.

The reason I have started this blog is to document my journey with lapbanding. I am getting banded on 5 August 2009. I am very excited about finally getting setting at date after contemplating it for a good many years. I have met with a couple of different surgeons and for different reasons have decided not to go ahead with them. We lived in a remote area for a while so I put it off then due to the distance to travel to get medical attention and we moved to a new city recently so now I have no excuses and I am finally making the commitment to the band.

A little about me…..
I am 32 years old and I am engaged to a wonderful man who will for the purposes of this blog be known as Mr B. We are planning to get married some time soon but I REALLY don’t want to get married at this size. I am about 166cms tall and weight around 133kgs. I am really uncomfortable at this size and desperately want to get rid of the weight. I know and accept that I will never be thin and nor do I want to be. I would be over the moon if I could get down to 90kgs. My aim is to lose enough to get rid of my high blood pressure ailment and be fit and healthy enough to fall pregnant and carry to term. We desperately want children and given my current obesity I suffer from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) which makes it’s very difficult to fall pregnant.

I’ve been looking into banding for a few years now. I have done some research on the net and have read heaps of your blogs. I am always inspired when I read the achievements of those who have had success with the band. I only hope I can achieve the same. I’m looking forward to connecting with you and reading more about your milestones.
